One night during the Christmas season I looked up and could not stop staring at those four stockings hanging on the mantle. It's so hard to believe that we are a family of four. Actually, it's really hard to believe that WE are the parents now having Christmas for two little precious babies. It seems like yesterday that I was the excited little girl who couldn't wait for Santa to come. I feel so blessed to have a family of my own and the joy they bring to my heart
I really love this picture. Izzy and Logan love each other so much (it took a while but they really do now!) I hope this means a future of playing well together :)

Having fun with cousin Karli on Christmas DayWhat a magical and blessed Christmas we had this year!! Having Logan with us this year, being in our new house and Izzy getting old enough to get super excited about Christmas made it all so fun this year. We started getting into the holiday spirit soon after Thanksgiving. We bought a really nice, new artificial tree for our new house this year and had so much fun decorating. Logan loved looking at all the lights and Izzy was a great helper decorating with us (you wouldn't believe how many ornaments were on the bottom of the tree!) We also had fun decorating with lights outside, which is something we never really did at our old house. The festivities went on from there and we went to a new light show that came to Myrtle Beach this year. It was a huge drive-thru Christmas light display synchronized to music...it was so cool! One Sunday after church we went to a restaurant for brunch with Santa. Izzy gets excited about Santa and likes to wave to him from afar, but gets freaked out when she gets close to him. Logan is too young to care, so we were able to get some good shots of him sitting on Santa's lap. The week before Christmas my parents came into town for a week and we had a really great time with them. We spent a couple nights making Christmas cookies and fudge at our house. They were also in town to see Izzy's Christmas program at her school. There were so many people there and Izzy had a little deer in the headlights look, but once she finally saw us in the crowd she was all smiles. We also went out to eat a couple times with my parents and they were able to take each grandchild individually shopping for Christmas presents. The next day after they left, Jeremy's mom arrived into town to spend Christmas with us.
I had to work Christmas Eve, but got home in time to get Santa's cookies ready with Izzy and get her and Logan tucked in for the night. Unfortunately, Izzy got a cold a few days before Christmas and was feeling especially crummy by Christmas day. However, she had a blast opening her presents and loved all of them. When she had finished opening her presents, I told her that I heard Santa doing something in the backyard last night. Of course she wanted to go check it out and she ran out back to discover her swing set! Even though she was not feeling well she was super excited. After presents and our traditional Christmas morning breakfast pizza, the kids took naps while we got showered and ready. Every year we go to my sister's Christmas afternoon for a meal and to hang out. This year we decided to grill steaks and they were delicious! We had a lot of fun spending time together and the kids played with all their new toys. It's hard to believe Christmas has already come and gone, but it was a really great one : )
