Look at me!!!
A few weeks ago, Isabelle started officially sitting up all by herself! There was about a week's time where we would sit her up, stay for a minute or two, and then topple over. Now, we put her in a sitting position and she stays for a really long time. She can even kind've catch herself when she starts to tip over, we're really seeing her balance improve. It seems like our little princess is doing new things all the time now. It's so cool to see her hitting these milestones. Above are a few pictures of her new trick for those of you who haven't seen her sit up yet.

Visit with Papa Pryce
Last week, Isabelle got to meet her Papa Pryce, his wife Janella and her three girls. They drove here all the way from Indiana. Isabelle and her Papa fell in love with each other at first sight. In addition to seeing Isabelle, they had some hot weather and were able to enjoy the beach and pool. They also did some shopping and bought Isabelle all sorts of neat things! They were here for Mother's Day and we enjoyed a nice breakfast out and all went to church together. We had a really nice time and enjoyed their company. Thanks for coming to visit and we hope to see you again soon!

Visit with Thomas, Elise and baby Thomas
Picture of the grandkids

Fun at the pool!
Cousins
The week before last my brother Thomas, his wife Elise and their little boy Thomas came down for a visit. We loved having them in town and had a really great time with them. The weather was beautiful and we spent a lot of time at the beach and pool. Thomas celebrated his 30th birthday while in Myrtle Beach and we had a barbecue. We also somehow managed to get Isabelle, Thomas, Robert and Karli all together and got pictures made at Sears for my mom for mother's day. Isabelle met her Aunt Elise and cousin Thomas for the first time and we got to spend some quality time with baby Thomas. He's such a sweet little boy and we had so much fun with him. He's walking now and saying a few words. He loves to be rough and is all boy, but can also be such a lovebug. Elise is about 6 months pregnant with their second child...a little girl expected to arrive in early August. I love baby Thomas so much, and can't wait to see my new niece. I love my brother, his wife and my nephew so much. I was so sad to see them go. However, our visits are so special and we're definitely going to make them as frequent as possible. Love you guys!

A week of firsts...
This past week my brother, his wife Elise and my nephew Thomas were in town. We had a great time (post and pics on that later!). Since we wanted to spend time with them, Isabelle ended up having a few firsts that week. She went to the pool, went to the beach, and even started solids on her 6 month birthday!! Despite the layers of SPF 50 sunblock we put on her, I was still so scared she would get burnt on her fresh white skin. Fortunately, she didn't get burnt at all, and I think she actually enjoyed it. We've been trying to tell Isabelle that she leaves at the beach so she needs to get used to it!! I think the more we take her to the pool and the beach the more she'll like it, especially as she gets older.
We dabbled with rice cereal about a month ago, but stopped after a week when she really didn't seem interested it and we thought she might not be ready. However, when she hit her 6 month birthday we knew it was time to start. Her first food was organic sweet potatoes. She definitely made a face with the first bite, but did well after that. She wasn't gobbling it up like I had hoped, but I think in time she'll get the hang of it. All in all, it was quite a week for our little Isabelle!

6 months old!!!
It seems like just yesterday when we came home from the hospital with our tiny little newborn, barely weighing six pounds. Now, six whole months have passed, and there has been a whole world of changes!! Friday she turned six months old and also had her checkup at the doctor's office. She's weighing in at 14 lbs. 2 oz. and is 25 1/4 inches long. She's still on the petite and dainty side, but very healthy and doing great. She's at the age now where she's really coming into her own. She's very curious and is constantly lunging and reaching for anything she thinks may be within her reach! She's gotten very good with the fine motor skills of her hands and loves holding on to things and switching from hand to hand. She's not sitting alone yet, but will sit up for a few moments before toppling over! She started rolling a couple months ago, but would only do it occasionally. Now, she's rolling like crazy! She goes back to front, then to her back again. However, when she rolls onto her belly when she's asleep, she cries instead of falling asleep on her belly or rolling back...sounds like another little girl I know : )!! Otherwise, she's sleeping pretty well at night. She still gets up a couple times a night to feed, but we're hoping that will start to diminish since we're starting her on solids (hopefully that's not wishful thinking!). She had a very busy month with lots of visitors and a lot of firsts. She really is a very good baby and is so happy and smiley. She has given us so much joy in our lives. Even though we can't just get up and go like we used to, we definitely wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. We're so thankful to the Lord for blessing us with our precious baby girl.
